3. Get your Tennessee title ready for donation
Before pickup, locate your Tennessee title and remove your license plates. We’ll walk you through how to sign the title over correctly based on Tennessee requirements. If you have questions about lost titles or name changes, we’ll talk through your options. Our local towing partner arrives in your scheduled window, loads the vehicle, and handles all transport at no cost to you — the tow is paid from the charity’s sale proceeds, never billed back. After the vehicle is sold, Heritage for the Blind mails you a tax receipt. Most donors can deduct up to $500 easily; for values above $500, you’ll use IRS Form 1098-C when you file your taxes.
